Lest We Forget
Our ‘Greatness’ consists in our ability to project ‘Goodness’ and apply our power to build Kindness and Fairness
Goodness is the Foundation of Greatness

'There is no higher religion than human service. To work for the common good is the greatest creed'. – Albert Schweitzer
What is the essence of a good life? Aristotle tells us that it is ‘to serve others and to do good.’
‘Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see’- Mark Twain
‘The World is my country, all mankind are my brethren, and to do good is my religion’-Thomas Paine
All said and done, to my mind, happiness is inextricably linked to having strong social ties and contributing to something bigger than yourself—
the greater good, the common good. This is the motto of our GCGI.- Kamran Mofid

‘As a American living in Australia, I see Biden’s win as reason to hope 2021 is the beginning of a new era.’- Nick Bhasin
‘When Joe Biden was declared the winner of the US election over the weekend, I joined millions of my fellow Americans in their relief. The nightmare of the past four years was over. Donald Trump was done. I couldn’t be there in person but I retweeted a couple of things and hugged my family.
But after an exhausting election week – “North Carolina’s blue, now it’s red, wait only 17 people in the state have voted, what is happening?!” – the question remains ...
How was it this close?
How did millions of Americans look at four years of lying, spreading disinformation, exacerbating racial tensions, and downplaying and mismanaging a pandemic and say “more”?
Turns out a quarter of a million dead from Covid just wasn’t that big a deal. Child separation? Not a problem. Democrats chose a compassionate, moderate, old white guy so no one would be scared off by identity politics and spooky “socialist” policies and 71 million people STILL said, “Nope. Give us the rich guy who’s in a lot of debt and pays no taxes and says that caravans of immigrants and thugs and animals will ruin our lives.”
2016 wasn’t a fluke. It was an entrée. More people voted for Trump this time, and he increased his support among minorities if you believe exit polls, which I don’t because the polls – and the punditry based on them – were useless. They promised a decisive victory for Biden but Trump’s strategy of combining D-grade celebrity charisma and appealing to people’s basest instincts worked...' Continue to read

Mary Trump on her uncle’s ‘Greatness without Goodness’

The president will be having ‘meltdowns upon meltdowns’, according to his niece, who sees poetic justice
in the lies and cheating now coming back to bite him.
‘This is how the most colossal and fragile ego on the planet deals with losing the US election: he does not deal with it at all.
My uncle’s speech late on election night wasn’t just entirely mendacious from beginning to end. It was also deeply dangerous. It’s one thing for random Republicans to call a legitimate election into question, but this was the head of the government. The consequences of that action should not be underestimated.
This is what Donald’s going to do: he’s not going to concede, although who cares. What’s worse is he’s not going to engage in the normal activities that guarantee a peaceful transition. All he’s got now is breaking stuff, and he’s going to do that with a vengeance. I’ve always known how cruel he can be. Shortly after the 2016 election, when I’d see him being particularly cruel, I would think about how he treated my father [Fred Trump Jr, Donald’s older brother, who died of alcoholism at 43]. He took away our family health insurance after his father, my grandfather, died – this was when my nephew needed round-the-clock nursing care, which we then couldn’t afford. That is the kind of man he is...' Continue to read

This is the Day We began to Reimagine and Hope for a Better World
In this troubled world the path of hope will save us

Photo:alicewalkersgarden.com
'Our Path of Hope is about many things. It is about challenging the norm. It is about volunteerism and service. It is about serving our communities, our world, and caring for our planet, our home. It is about finding out more about ourselves than we ever imagined possible. It is about having a dream. It is about a mission and our vocation in life. It is about believing in our journey and stories. It is all about hope.'
‘It is hope that can give meaning to life and which will give us the courage
to continue on our way into the future together.’
We must remain positive. We must remain hopeful

‘When moral convulsions recede, the national consciousness is transformed. New norms and beliefs, new values for what is admired and disdained, arise. Power within institutions gets renegotiated. Shifts in the collective consciousness are no merry ride; they come amid fury and chaos, when the social order turns liquid and nobody has any idea where things will end. Afterward, people sit blinking, battered, and shocked: What kind of nation have we become?’...America Is Having a Moral Convulsion
This election, like the one before it, shows that the US is a broken country,
morally, ethically and spiritually

Prime minister Ardern, has inspired love, kindness, empathy, trust and the common good
Ask yourself this question: Has any political leader in your country, ever, spoken about love, empathy, kindness, trust and the common good?
There you have it! That’s why your country IS NOT GREAT!
This is why every country needs a Jacinda Ardern to discover What it Means to be Human and Great
......
...And one final point, lest we forget again!
To My Mind,This is the Key Lesson from New Zealand on How to Build a Better World
Everywhere I look, in countries, like Britain, US, Australia, India,..., who all claim to be the lands of ‘democracy’, I see the tragic consequences of embracing populism, arrogance and exceptionalism. But not in New Zealand. Why?
For sure there must be multiple reasons, as noted in the analysis below. But, one reason, for me, stands out: New Zealand emphatically rejected the poisonous and dirty works of the Murdoch’s Empire of Destruction:
“A huge reason that our politics is not so extremely polarised and so far out there is because we no longer have Murdoch-owned press in New Zealand, and it’s never taken a foothold.”

Our Rotten and Corrupted World: Murdoch’s Carnage and His Evil Empire
Elections based on Sowing the Seeds of Deceit and Destruction Will Never Result in Building a Good,
Kind, Just and Fair Country and Communities.

......
And this is my Ten Steps to a morally and spiritually sound economic system to build a better world
Come with me, let us enjoy togetherness, family, friends and community. Ours should not be a caravan of despair, but the flame of love and hope
Walk with the wanderers
Sing and dance with the worshipers
Proclaim the memory of those who have taken their leave
Wrap the despairing and the broken in the arms of love and community
And hold the hands of all of us who have broken our vows and call us back—again and again—to the covenant and work of justice, humility, and steadfast faithfulness.
For this we are here together today. So, my friends, come, yet again; come let us be together.
